Summary

Spice up your live stream with this customizable virtual environment.
This week Bigscreen Inc. introduced a brand new green screen room to its social VR platform Bigscreen VR, allowing users to customize their virtual environment for a variety of use cases, from VR podcasts and live streams to video conferencing and more.
Available now to all Bigscreen users as a free update, the new green screen room opens up a wide range of possibilities when it comes to enhancing your video content. Add a VR avatar to your next Twitch stream, direct a short film, record your own virtual talk show; it’s your virtual studio, do whatever you’d like.
Setup is painfully simple:
  1. After setting up an account and logging into Bigscreen, head to the “My Rooms” tab located in the “Environments” area and look for the “Green Screen” option.
  2. Those with a PC VR headset (Oculus Rift/Rift S, SteamVR) can also access a “Selfie Stick (Streamer Cam) from the “My Rooms” tab, allowing them to capture a live video feed on their desktops. Bigscreen Inc. plans on adding Selfie Stick support for Oculus Quest/Quest 2 sometime in the near future. In the meantime, the tool can be accessed on standalone VR headsets via the Oculus Link.
And that’s it! With a live video feed established you can now begin recording content, live streaming directly to Twitch, YouTube, or any other of your favorite platforms using software such as OBS (Open Broadcast Software), or attending remote work meetings using your virtual avatar.
Bigscreen is available for download free on Oculus Rift/Rift S, Oculus Quest/Quest 2, Oculus Go, and SteamVR headsets. In the official release, the company also provides an update on the highly-anticipated “Remote Desktop” feature, which will allow users to stream their desktop PC to Oculus Quest/Quest 2 headsets:
“In the next 1-2 months, our Remote Desktop feature will finally come out of beta testing. It enables ultra-low latency desktop streaming to the Oculus Quest (10-15ms). We’ve been using it to play PC games in Quest, but it can also be used with any Windows productivity app like Photoshop.”
