Summary

Expand your ghost-hunting empire while taking on all manner of supernatural threats.
Originally announced this past April during the 2022 Meta Gaming Showcase, nDreams’ upcoming Ghostbusters VR game has received an official title and release window. The news was dropped earlier today as part of the Kinda Funny Halloween live stream, during which Sony shared more information about the cooperative VR experience.
Coming to Meta Quest 2 and PlayStation VR2 headsets in 2023, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will have you teaming up with friends to open your own ghost-hunting business in San Fransisco while taking on the titular Ghost Lord and his army of the undead. You can play the game cooperatively with three other players or on your own for an extra spooky experience.
Along the way, you’ll have access to an assortment of instantly-recognizable ghost-hunting tools, such as the legendary proton pack. According to Sony, you’ll be able to customize your equipment as well as one of several original characters.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord pits you and your proton pack against the newest, biggest villain inside a totally immersive VR Ghostbusters universe,” said Jake Zim, Senior Vice President of Virtual Reality at Sony Pictures Entertainment. “We’re excited to give fans this first look.”
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will be available in 2023 on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Playstation VR 2. The game was developed by veteran VR developer nDreams (Little Cities, Phantom: Covert Ops, Far Cry VR) in collaboration with Sony Pictures VR.
