The KiWear smart ring is a gesture controller for VR headsets, smart glasses, phones, laptops and TVs, launching on Kickstarter September 2nd at $249 for early birds. Here's the unboxing and my first impressions. 👉 KiWear → https://www.kiwear.com/ If you own a lot of devices, most of them came with their own controller, their own remote or their own app. It's a lot, so I've been on a mission to find one that handles all of them. This is the closest I've come. It's a 5 gram ceramic ring with an IMU motion sensor inside that reads how your finger moves, so it works over Bluetooth with your hand out of sight. I've used Meta's Neural Band and the gestures here feel the same, which surprised me, because that one reads the muscles in your arm and here it's just a motion sensor in a ring. Swipe your thumb along your index finger to scroll, tap your index finger to click, tap your middle finger to go back, draw a circle in the air for volume, check mark to answer a call. It also tracks heart rate, sleep and activity. I'm not calling it yet. There's a lot left to test, so I'll be putting it through everything over the next few weeks and giving you the full review.
