The XREAL AURA is a pair of Android XR smart glasses that move the processor and battery into a pocket puck, keeping the glasses under 95 grams with 6DoF and hand tracking. Most AR glasses cram everything onto your face, which means weight and heat. XREAL split the AURA in two instead. After four hours wearing them, the cable stopped feeling like the compromise and started feeling like the design choice that makes them work. Android XR means normal Android apps run alongside spatial content, and this is the first pair that made me think playing VR games in something this small could become normal. It's not perfect: there's a cable, there's pressure on the nose, and I want much more time with them before a verdict.
