It’s movie tie-in time again. Earlier this week VRFocus reported on Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) and The VOID revealing Jumanji: Reverse the Curse to coincide with the theatrical release of Jumanji: The Next Level. Today, it’s the turn of the Terminator franchise, with Terminator: Guardian of Fate now available at multiple Dave & Buster’s locations.

The entertainment venue has once again teamed up with virtual reality (VR) specialist VRstudios to bring this action-packed interactive experience to fans across North America. Created in collaboration with Strange Reptile – the same studio which helped build Dave & Buster’s other VR offerings Star Trek: Dark Remnant and Men in Black: Galactic Getaway – thrusts you into a treacherous rescue mission alongside Sarah Connor (still voiced by Linda Hamilton).

Once again a Terminator has arrived to annihilate a target who will prove invaluable to the future of the Resistance, so it’s up to you, Connor and her team to stop it at all costs. You’ll need to outrun and outwit the mechanical assassin to ensure the target and her work escape safely. Players are assigned random avatars and have access to a variety of weapons through a series of upgrades within the videogame.

While it is linked to the recently released Terminator: Dark Fate movie, the VR experience has been designed to keep guests coming back for more. Another chapter will be released soon adding multiple endings, subtle differences in gameplay and other surprises.

“We have really created something very special with Terminator: Guardian of Fate. This is an all-out adrenaline-fueled interactive experience that is a roller coaster of intensity,” said Chanel Summers, VRstudios’ Vice President of Creative Development. “The Terminator is the ultimate movie monster and just when players think they have destroyed it, it comes back! The action is so relentless that you will barely have time to catch your breath!”

Terminator: Guardian of Fate takes around 5 minutes with pricing varying between $5 USD and $7 depending on the location, of which 130 will have the VR experience.
