Welcome to another Through the Lenses comparison! In this episode, as requested in the comments, we are putting three standalone contenders head-to-head to see which one delivers the best visual clarity for PCVR: the new Steam Frame from Valve, the Meta Quest 3, and the Pico 4 Ultra! Can a 2023 standalone headset still hold its own against Valve’s latest hardware? We put the camera right up to the pancake lenses to compare edge-to-edge clarity, sweet spot, chromatic aberration, FOV, display contrast, and streaming compression artifacts side-by-side. Is the Steam Frame worth the premium jump over the Quest 3 and Pico 4 Ultra, or should you hold onto your current setup? Let’s find out! Making these comparison videos takes an immense amount of trial and error, reshooting, and calibration. If you enjoy these deep dives, please drop a Like and leave a comment it genuinely helps beat the algorithm and supports the channel!
