Summary

The one hour visit will include a VR demo, tour, and meet-and-greet at the companies’ home-base in Bellevue, Washington.
If there’s one thing we know about Valve Corporation, it’s that the veteran video game developer/publisher prides itself in keeping its inner-workings cloaked in a shroud of secrecy. Very few outsiders have been permitted into their Washington-based headquarters, which has since become a Narnia-of-sorts for PC gamers infatuated with anything and everything Valve related.
Now, Valve Software Product Designer Lawrence Yang is offering hardcore fans the rare opportunity to venture deep inside the companies Bellevue, Washington facility for an exclusive Willy Wonka-style tour.
The one hour visit will include a complete tour of the Valve Corp studio and a meet-and-greet with Yang, product designer who in the past has worked for Apple on system features and apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. Most importantly, visitors will have the chance to go-hands on with Valve’s flagship VR title, Half-Life: Alyx
Those interested can submit their bid via Charitybuzz; the current estimated value is $2,500 (bidding begins at $500). The winner along with three friends will then travel to Bellevue, Washington for their 1-hour tour on March 4th. According to the listing visitors will be responsible for their own airfare and housing accommodations; the visit must be booked six weeks in advance.
All proceeds of the auction will go directly to California’s Elemental Music program, which provides training and support to young students interested in music.
“Elemental Music inspires, trains, and nurtures young musicians. We engage Santa Monica elementary and middle school students through high-quality ensemble programs that ignite passion and enthusiasm for making music with others. A sense of community and teamwork that starts while in our programs often lasts for life!” – Elemental Music
With less than a month to go before the launch of Half-Life: Alyx, expect to see a lot more news begin to leak.
