While playing virtual reality games is often fun, it would be easy to assume that the actions you perform while experiencing a certain application wouldn’t transfer over to real-life. However, one piece of software is now pushing back against that notion.

Rezzil, a virtual reality app that focuses on “training and cognitive development,” today announced a new partnership that might very well help many around the world improve their own real-world talents when it comes to certain sports. Teaming up with Harena Data, Rezzil will now be able to provide youth soccer players across the country with information that could more adequately see improvements in their own game.

Thanks to Harena Data clients such as Youth Soccer Associations, those who belong to the organization will now be able to utilize Rezzil’s VR training system. This program essentially allows players to run different drills where they would interact with a virtual soccer ball that mimics the real-world patterns that the balls follow when kicked about. From the data that is collected when users try out this program, Rezzil can then determine their “wellness, cognitive capabilities, and skill level.”

While it doesn’t translate entirely to the act of, you know, playing real soccer, Rezzil verifies that it can indeed help improve the skills of players. Plus, with all of the data that players will be getting back, they might more aptly know which areas they’ll need to improve on moving forward.

“The partnership with Harena Data offers Rezzil a great opportunity to expand our footprint and lines up with our strategic vision,” explained Christian Barsanti, the Director of Operations at Rezzil. “What attracted us was how much in alignment our thought processes were with Harena. including data transparency and creating pathways that help individuals and teams.”

“Similar to our GYO analytics platform, Rezzil is a generational training tool that provides a safe, controlled environment for players to get in-depth research to improve their skills,” said Harena Data’s Bill Dever. “Our clients, in particular youth soccer players across the country, can train year round and track their results to become the best they’ve ever been.”

Overall, it’s pretty wild what Rezzil has been able to create with its virtual reality training program. The fact that VR applications are now allowing players to continue to hone and harness their skills in given sports is pretty wild and the fact that this program will now be opened up to a whole new audience via Harena Data is great to see. The soccer stars of tomorrow might not be honing their skills on the pitch, but instead could be doing so in the virtual world.
