TL;DR: Woot has a collection of refurbished Apple iPhones on sale for as low as $79.99 through the end of the day (Monday, April 11). Choose from the iPhone 6 Plus, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, XR, or XS.

No one's doing the "absurdly cheap Apple devices" thing better than Woot. (Yes, we're still reminiscing over that $175 iMac.)

As of April 11, the Amazon-owned daily deals site has a bunch of older refurbished iPhones listed for well under $300. These offers are only live through the end of the day or while supplies last — which may not be long, considering several configurations are sold out already:

  • iPhone 6 Plus $79.99 to $89.99 (64GB or 128GB in space gray)

  • iPhone 6S Plus$99.99 to $119.99 (16GB, 32GB, or 64GB in silver, space gray, or rose gold)

  • iPhone 7 — $119.99 to $159.99 (32GB, 128GB, or 256GB in black, jet black, gold, rose gold, or silver)

  • iPhone 7 Plus $169.99 to $189.99 (32GB or 128GB in black, jet black, gold, or rose gold)

  • iPhone 8$149.99 (64GB in gold, red, silver, or space gray)

  • iPhone 8 Plus — $219.99 to $269.99 (64GB or 256GB in silver, space gray, or red)

  • iPhone X$229.99 (64GB in silver or space gray)

  • iPhone XR$239.99 to $269.99 (64GB or 128GB in black, blue, red, or yellow)

  • iPhone XS — $249.99 to $269.99 (64GB or 256GB in gold, silver or space gray)

Finding a big-name smartphone on sale in the $100 to $200 range or lower feels like a "say less!" moment, but these do benefit from a few caveats. For one thing, all of them are labeled as "S&D" (Scratch and Dent), meaning they're tested to work good as new but come with a moderate level of wear and tear. Keep in mind, too, that the iPhone 6 Plus is so old that it doesn't receive iOS updates anymore; you're stuck at iOS 12.4 if you opt for that one.

That being said, these older models are definitely still worth a buy in 2022 if you just need a basic backup phone for calls and texting (or if you really, really miss the headphone jacks of yore). Even if you just get a year or two out of it, at least it was cheaper than dirt.
