With all this talk of the metaverse, the world is starting to look more and more like Ready Player One each day.

The latest thing to go virtual? Weddings, apparently. And Late Show host Stephen Colbert has some thoughts.

"That's so romantic," says Colbert in the clip above. "Reminds me of that passage from Corinthians: 'Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not having to see your actual face.'"

Shortly after, Late Show writer Pratimi Mani appears to give Colbert a live demonstration of what a VR wedding might actually look like, complete with a "final boss" in the form of a pushy grandmother demanding answers about dating.
