Taskmaster, the UK comedy series that sees celebrities earning points as they complete a series of amusingly ridiculous tasks, is getting a VR game spinoff.

Taskmaster VR will be a virtual reality game that sees players taking on the role of contestant. There's no release date yet, but it's "coming soon" to Meta Quest and Steam.

Scallywag Arcade, the studio behind the game, shared a teaser trailer on Wednesday — and we can confirm that host Greg Davies looks even more terrifying in CGI form.

Taskmaster has been running for 16 seasons and around 150 episodes, and has featured the likes of comedians James Acaster, Bob Mortimer, Mae Martin, Lolly Adefope, Romesh Ranganathan, and Katherine Ryan, as well as Great British Bake Off host Noel Fielding, Am I Being Unreasonable?'s Daisy May Cooper, and This Way Up's Aisling Bea. Each series features a different group of celebrities that complete challenges — everything from "knock over the fewest skittles" to "remove the table tennis ball from the pipe" — before getting awarded points by Davies, who hosts alongside the show's creator Alex Horn.

It's one of those shows that everyone secretly wishes they could have a go on, and — while most of us will never be famous enough to actually get the invite — the VR version could be the next best thing.

Taskmaster VR can be wishlisted now on Steam.
