No one should have to guess what's going on in that dark scene of The Handmaid's Tale. Since 2020, TV manufacturers have been pumping out large, affordable 4K panels at a wicked pace — which means watching your favorite content with punchy colors, decipherable shadows, and smooth transitions doesn't have to be reserved for the movie theater. Each weekend, we'll be compiling a list of our favorite 4K and QLED TV deals from Samsung, LG, Sony, and more.

Samsung

OUR TOP PICK: Samsung 85-inch QN85A Neo QLED Quantum 4K HDR Smart TV (QN85QN85AAFXZA) — $3,597.99 (save $902)

Neo QLED is a new, smaller type of QLED introduced by Samsung in early 2021. The traditional backlit panel has been traded for Quantum Mini LEDs that take up about .025% of the size — offering room for extra LEDs to create more nuance, precision, and customization of warmth and contrast based on what you're watching. Samsung's Quantum HDR 24X also helps to saturate colors without the spectrum getting muddied or losing its luminance.

LG

OUR TOP PICK: LG 55-inch GX Series 4K OLED Smart TV (OLED55GXPUA) — $1,496.99 (save $300) A dark room is a prime environment for an at-home movie — if your TV actually makes those dark scenes viewable, that is. LG's GX Series harnesses the glow of millions of self-lit pixels to deepen backgrounds and put faces and objects in the spotlight. As "Gallery Design" suggests, the luxe one-piece design is meant to be hung on the wall like art (special mounting bracket included).

Sony

OUR TOP PICK: Sony 48-inch A9S Series 4K OLED Smart TV (XBR48A9S) — $1,299.99 (save $500)

We're ditching the unspoken rule that TVs for any room but the living room need to be small and dinky. The 48-inch model of Sony's A9S OLED Series is particularly great for sports fans watching in the kitchen or garage. Outstanding gray uniformity, good viewing angles, and self-lighting pixels eliminate the need to squint to decipher on-screen details.

Hisense, Vizio, and more

OUR TOP PICK: TCL 55-inch 5-Series QLED 4K Smart TV (55S535) — $548 (save $164.59)

TCL's budget QLED tech is a pretty unbeatable value. Compared to your old LED TV, this TCL's utilization of quantum dots add a layer between LEDs and the screen to make hues pop and contrast deepened. Keeping it at its most saturated may drain the brightness a bit, but not enough to kill your content's vibe.
