While utilizing virtual reality for physical fitness has become a great tool in recent years, using the platform to promote mental health is often just as important. As of next week, a new application will be released that should help many around the globe unwind even further at the end of each day.

Virry Happy: mindfulness in nature VR is the third application released in the Virry series and is set to release on July 2, 2020. The experience takes players to the beautiful wildlands of Kenya, where you’ll come into contact with various animals that reside at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Virry Happy is comprised of many different experiences featuring real-life animals that allow you to have a VR-based encounter with nature.

According to Virry, “nature VR has been scientifically proven to improve both physical and emotional wellbeing” meaning that experiences of this kind can help improve your overall mood and lessen stress. Virry Happy: mindfulness in nature VR is also meant to put you more in touch with the natural world while also providing a way for you to practice relaxation techniques. In total, there is over 2 hours of content said to be present within Virry Happy.

With many around the globe now regularly quarantining themselves inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Virry believes that this new release will greatly help many around the globe. “Whilst many who find themselves working from home for the first time are enjoying some of the freedoms remote working brings, the drastic change in employees’ workday structure and environment also means that plenty are now missing out on the various wellbeing schemes and benefits that more progressive companies have worked to put in place to support their staff, such as mindfulness meditation rooms,” said Svetlana Dragayeva, the CEO and co-founder of Virry. “We are therefore seeing an opportunity for these companies to think of innovate ways in which they can continue to support their employees’ welfare from afar, so that those living and working in particularly stressful households aren’t loosing out.”

Relaxation apps like Virry Happy have been springing up more and more over the past few months, which has surely been a positive for many. As Virry points out, apps like this that help provide you with ways to relax in the middle of long workdays have become more prominent, and Virry says it has seen sales in its other products recently as a result. If you’re someone who hasn’t been able to get outdoors as frequently as you’d like this year, perhaps Virry Happy could help simulate that experience for you and provide you with some newfound ways to relax while you’re at it.

Virry Happy: mindfulness in nature VR is set to launch next Thursday on Oculus Go and will retail for $29.99. For more information on Virry as a whole, you can visit the company’s official website.
