VR Mods Bring Halo And Star Wars To Life On Quest 2

One of the best VR shooters on Quest just got even better.

Earlier this month, the popular VR shooter Contractors received a handful of major upgrades, including an improved physics system and smoother reloading mechanics. The highly-anticipated update also introduced a variety of improvements to the game’s modkit, allowing for even more advanced customization.

So far developers have been having a field day recreating a variety of popular games inside the multiplayer shooter, including the immensely-popular Halo series. Those with a Meta Quest 2 headset can sign in to Contractors right now to explore classic Halo maps like Rumble Pit and Blood Gulch in VR. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The character models have been replaced with that of Spartans and there are various Covenant and UNSC load-outs to choose from, each of which features instantly-recognizable weapons such as the Battle Rifle and Energy Sword. Of course, you can operate every weapon using your Touch controllers, resulting in some truly intense firefights.

In addition to Halo, there are also VR mods that bring the iconic multiplayer game Star Wars: Battlefront to life on Quest 2 headsets. You can battle other players across a variety of maps, including Tatooine, Hoth, and Kashyyyk as either a Republic Clone trooper or a Sith Battle droid. Like the Halo mods, there are various Star Wars load-outs featuring everything from blaster rifles to thermal detonators.

Getting started is easy. All you have to do is visit the multiplayer menu and search for games using the aforementioned mods in the server list. All the necessary mods will be downloaded and applied automatically as soon as you join the server.

Contractors is available now for $19.99 on the Meta Quest 2.
