In this COVID-19 pandemic, we are getting disconnected with people and it is quite difficult for gregarious person who enjoyed the company of others. Online meetings are a new form of interactions among people. But many people don’t enjoy these kind of interactions. The reason for that we understand people better by their body language, emotions and appearance instead of their words.
As many people doing WFH(Work from Home) from last few months and all the meetings and fun activities are carried out by online meetings only. To keep your employees morale high and to cheer up by doing meetings in an interactive and fun manner is a great idea and initiative. Now it makes easy by Mozilla to do such things with the help of their new project named — Mozilla Hubs. Let’s have a look into it and it’s features in more detail :
Mozilla Hub is a virtual reality chatroom designed for any device or headset to allow people to come together and connect with people in a more realistic way with the help of Virtual Reality devices like HTC Vive, Oculus Rift etc. The most interesting feature of this is that you can use it through your modern browsers in your mobile and desktop as well. It is easy and handy way to connect with people in an interesting way at any place and at any time through your device.

1. Support for every device and mixed reality headset

Hubs are built on the web standard WebXR to deliver the content that makes it accessible through all the devices that can interact with web. To get more realistic experience for social interactions, you can connect through VR devices like HTC Vive, Oculus Rift etc. As these devices give you more realistic experience in meetings but at the same time it also charge good amount of money as well. As an alternative, you can connect through VR devices like DayDream or Cardboard Viewer which does not affect your pockets a lot and you get enough realistic experience as well. The best part to connect with hubs you don’t need to download or install any app from App Store or anywhere else. You just need a URL and access it through your device and that’s all you are part of chat room. Let’s enjoy conversation with your friends, colleagues etc.

  • Is this application secure?
  • How secure my data is?
  • What level of security in this application?
  • And many more…😖
It is one of the major principle of Mozilla hubs to keep their users data secure and ensure good level of privacy. In fact they are continuously working in this area of such a dynamic application to ensure high level of security of their users data and privacy. They are planning to release some tools or any medium to let users know how their identity is represented in this platform to get better idea about their appearance in this new medium of interaction with others.
