The Puzzle Project
The puzzle project is an amazing fun project. Want to have fun and sharpen your brain cells? This is the game for you. In this game the player enters a gloomy room and a puzzle sequence that is randomly generated every time is highlighted. On selecting the correct sequence, the player can move out of the room and restart the game. If he selects the wrong sequence bad luck try again!!
I started doing this project as part of my VR developer course. Through out the course I got to learn such amazing and interesting things about VR. In this project specifically I learnt how to document my work. This is the most important step as this will matter when I apply for jobs. The bast part of the project is i got to showcase my work in a well established manner.
Puzzler Rules
Click the start button. The player will move inside the mystery room. The sequence is then highlighted in green. You need to copy the sequence. If you do it wrong you will be informed with an audio sound. It the sequence is copied right Congratulations!! You won. The player is moved out of the game and asked if he/she wants to restart the game.

Sketches
Below is a sketch I came up with before I started developing the game. This helped me picture my game. I knew where to put each model in the scene and I had a target. All this was possible as the picture helped me get a direction on what I am looking to get from the scene.
Rough sketch
User Testing
User test 1 -User 1 commented on the speed when trying to walk. The speed was 3 so I changed it to 1. This allowed the user to move in a more moderate speed. He also mentioned that the experience was quite comfortable and that the mood was well established. I made the spacing between the endpoint and restart canvas reasonable so that the user will not fell inconvenient. He mentioned that the scaling was good enough and he did not experience any motion sickness. I tested the game with the tester again and made sure he gave me a thumbs up before i gave a green signal.
User Test 2- User 2 had comments on the speed on the player when trying to walk. He said it is too fast and also that the restart canvas was a bit to close to the camera. So that caused a little discomfort. I made changes to speed and spacing between endpoint and restart canvas and tested the game with the tester again and made sure he gave me a thumbs up before i gave a green signal.
Break down of the final piece
Start canvas -The start canvas had a start button. On clicking the start button the player is supposed to slowly move into the room. The player can freely move around and inspect anything he pleases to. To move he needs to look down by 30 degrees.
Mystery Room -The mystery room consists on the puzzle. The puzzle is randomly generated by a script. The correct sequence is shown as the orb lite up in green. When the player clicks the wrong orb he hears an audio to let him know that it is a wrong step. On entering the correct sequence, the player gets to move out of the room to the restart canvas. The player can freely move inside the room and inspect anything he pleases to.Restart Canvas -The restart canvas has a restart button. On clicking on the restart button the player goes back to the start canvas where he can start a fresh game.

Conclusion
This was an overall fun project to work on. I got to learn about user testing, movement sickness and most important of all how to document my work. i am continuing to work on the project to increase the number of level. Each level will have different types of puzzles and the challenge level will keep increasing.
Don’t forget to give us your 👏 !
