Summary
Connecting remote teams will continue to be the focus of businesses and team leaders for the foreseeable future and many have turned to VR as a solution to their current reality. Since launching in open beta on April 30, there have been over 5,000 meetings held in VIVE Sync and daily use of the platform is on the rise. From large companies to small teams, university lectures to intimate events, users are tapping Sync to establish more productive and collaborative relationships while increasing engagement and avoiding burnout.
We’ve listened to the feedback of the companies and individuals integrating Sync into their processes and today we’re delivering on some of the most requested features:
Web Browsing –
Pull up your project management task list, search a competitor, stream a video, or analyze your company’s homepage – today we’re bringing the internet into Sync with a special preview version of our web browser. Now with the ability to pull up the internet through your Sync tablet, teams can connect to the web while in their immersive meetings.
Host Controls –
You talked, we listened. Host controls were the most requested feature by the Vive Sync community. Now you can mute, unmute, and manage permissions for an individual user or the entire room using our new suite of host controls.
The ability to manage the participants of a meeting opens the doors for new use cases in Sync. Company town halls, speaking sessions, press conferences and classrooms, events with larger audiences can now be run smoothly in Sync.
Android Support –
On the go? No need to pack your VR headset with you as you can now join Sync meetings from your Android device. Now with the freedom to connect with your team from anywhere and the ability to include teammates without a VR device, Android support helps ensure all members of your team can participate in Sync.

- Take your 3D models for a spin with our totally upgraded 3D object interface offering more flexibility and control over 3D models in SYNC. Easily scale and rotate 3D assets with precision to get an accurate review of a model from all points of view.
- Lots of visual improvements everywhere! From additional avatar hair options to different features like our laser pointer… and just wait to see our awesome new chairs!
