We are a team of two enthusiastic VR developers and go getters that brings variety of skills to the table and enjoy what we do.

Idea of the game:

Deciding the concept of the game was one of the major milestones. We wanted to make an awe-inspiring game that our true gamer users will enjoy. Every time we get excited about a concept we realize one month might be bit too less to develop it.
After hours of brainstorming we came up with the idea for the space shooter game. A game where we are in space shooting asteroids and making our way through challenges. We conceptualized the idea and created a story that gives our player a role, a vision and a goal. So, they can get involved in the game as much as we are involved.
We wanted a game with state-of-the-art graphics and animations. That is where we are planning on taking our game in the next version.

The Story of an adventure:

The game takes place on the ring of Saturn. It is time for the annual Spacecraft pilot competition on the asteroid belt. A competition, where brave pilots from all around the universe participate. A competition that challenges pilot’s flying skills and gunner’s shooting skills. It is a quest to be the best team of pilots in the universe. Winners of the game will be awarded Milky way Pilot of the year award.
Our captain Valerio an aspiring spacecraft pilot wants to participate in the competition. But captain is one gunner short for the spaceship. Do you have what it takes to be the gunner? It is in your hands to get the spaceship through the notorious asteroid belt by shooting every possible object that may harm the spaceship. The spaceship is equipped with plasma missiles, shoot your way through the belt and victory is yours!! Fire away!!

The Implementation:

An idea has no value until it is implemented. We started off with the right foot by creating the sketch of what we had in our mind. We created a persona of our user as in Fig (1). Creating the persona helped us decide the type of audience we were targeting at. We have a background story of where he comes from, what he likes and dislikes, what he likes to do in his free time, etc. Figuring out helped us figure out our users

Brainstorming:

Our remote meetings start with a lot of reference videos and amazing ideas that we can implement into our game. It ends with a lot of excitement and pushing us closer to our ultimate goal of conceptualizing and developing a VR game in 3 weeks. We unanimously decided on features and functionalities that we will be providing in our game. We made our work breakdown structure and work schedule. We used a hybrid model of waterfall and agile to implement our ideas to reality. We distributed the work for unambiguity and clarity.
To avoid confusion, we would divide our work, record our screens and share it with each other as we go along the development. We would give feedback to each other’s work. We would make changes as per the feedback if we think they are appropriate, else leave that point for discussion in our weekly meeting. In this way we didn’t not have to wait for the other person and we could work in our own times. We further divided work such that we were not dependent to each other. Once we completed all the scenes one of us merged the scenes and made it into an awesome blossom super-duper Space shooter game!!

User Testing

User test 1: As per User Tester 1 the game Logo in the gameLogo1 Scene was too close. He said it maid him feel uncomfortable. So, we had to correct that before our next iteration. He also said the first scene was not comfortable. We initially put the video in a sphere, but after this comment we changed it into a cube. Thus, making the video clearer and cleaner.
User test 2: As per User Tester 2 the spaceship was moving too fast in the introduction scene. She mentioned it caused a little discomfort. So we reduced the speed of the spaceship and iterated the game again to test it.

Where we want to take the game next?

Our next step is to add some additional functionalities by displaying score and making the asteroids travel faster as the players score increase. In other word as level increases. we are also going to create additional levels for the game.

Don’t forget to give us your 👏 !
