After years of hibernation, Valve has confirmed the existence of Half-Life: Alyx, their next flagship VR game. The company confirms more details are coming next Thursday.
Not much is known about the game yet. We know that the game will be exclusive to Valve Index. It is also unclear whether it would be a sequel to Half-Life 2: Episode 2, or a side story based on the character.
We’re excited to unveil Half-Life: Alyx, our flagship VR game, this Thursday at 10am Pacific Time.

Valve has a history of working as a loose company structure, more focused on their online store. This combined with their seeming reluctance to talk about Half-Life, with reports saying that the project was canned internally.
With the new game in development, fans are hopeful that it can progress the medium in the same way that Half-Life 2 innovated gaming when it was released.
Valve will unveil more info at 10am PT this Thursday.
