Summary

HTC VIVE’s award-winning wireless all-in-one VR headset, VIVE Focus 3, has received both FCC and CE certification for Wi-Fi 6E. With this update, customers in the US, the UK, Germany and France are now able to access Wi-Fi 6E bandwidth on their VIVE Focus 3 devices.
Certification enables VIVE Focus 3 to connect to networks that use the new Wi-Fi 6E standard and tap into the full potential of next generation, high-speed wireless internet. Wi-Fi 6E is extremely low latency, which makes it ideal for VR streaming. With Wi-Fi 6E running on the new 6 GHz frequency, it’s an ideal solution in Wi-Fi congested environments with high interference.
“This is a game changer for customers who need to deploy multiple VR headsets with low-latency, like multiuser training environments,” said Amir Khorram, AVP of Enterprise Sales at HTC VIVE. “Wi-Fi 6E is an incredibly fast protocol. This will greatly help reduce bandwidth limitations and boost efficiency.”
Because Wi-Fi 6E is a high-bandwidth protocol, it can accommodate concurrent VR streaming to more devices than previous Wi-Fi standards while still maintaining high-fidelity visuals. This will enable businesses to expand their VR layout to cover more users, while at the same time improving the quality of visuals and reducing latency.
To unlock Wi-Fi 6E on VIVE Focus 3 today, simply connect to the internet and download the latest over-the-air firmware update when prompted.
